INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, ACTIVITY 20
What is Managing information withing and outside the organization?, What is the
importance of it?
It is very useful for organizations since having order within the business today is necessary to
manage a large amount of information within the organization. It is necessary to have a system that helps with these processes, as well as to have people who know how to manage them in such a way that it helps the organization.
What are the new technologies that companies have to manage for communications
purposes?
E-mail, internet, voice mail, CD-ROM, groupware, teleconferences and faxes.
Describe the role of technological discoveries throughout history.
Technological advance is the easiest (but not the only) way to measure what the vast majority consider “progress.” Technological advances allow society to move towards new horizons, leave behind issues that become obsolete and in one way or another (sometimes unpredictably) transform art, culture and ideological thought.
What is the importance of technologies in the globalized business world?
Technology in companies allows executives to take advantage of and be aware of the
opportunities in the national and international market, which are becoming more and more
challenging, which entails the possibilities of expansion and opening of new business
opportunities.
Describe the use of the technologies in the communication field.
There are multiple examples of ICT such as the telephone, cell phones, printing, mail and
computers, but, without a doubt, the one that has caused the most impact on the
development of societies is the internet.
The internet is more than a platform for the exchange of data: it is the global network that
allows access to information from anywhere in the world and makes communication possible
from different places without the need to be face to face. All this happens in an almost
instantaneous time, which facilitates the almost immediate exchange and obtaining of
information.
What are the Do’s and Don’ts of Electronic Communication?
Electronic communication is fast, cost-effective, and convenient, but these attributes contain inherent disadvantages. Technology that allows people to stay in touch at all times can also invade privacy and cut into valuable relaxation time. For some decades now, the media have been considered essential elements for disseminating information. The opening of new specialized programs, both on radio and television, have given people the opportunity to keep up to date with what is happening in the world. Well, the media not only reflect “what happens in the world” but also invoke a culture and an ideology
that is constantly reproduced and that permanently impacts our society.
How have the Information & communication technologies changed the structure of business organizations?
Information and communication technologies have taken on special importance in all current
economic spheres and activities, influencing the environment of organizations forcing them to adapt through their appropriation and exploitation. Sometimes the change in the organization occurs in a gradual, evolutionary, planned by the same people who integrate them, while in other situations, the transformation must be immediate, obligatory or coercive, reactive, forcing the aforementioned social entities and their members, to modify their way of operating
and acting.
What are the legal and Ethical implications of the use of technologies? Explain the in detail
Cybercrime:
It is when a criminal, user of a computer device takes advantage of the Internet and the
networks in our society.
Legal aspects:
Computer programs are protected like a literary work such as books, magazines, etc.
Copyright:
It is the property right and you get it when you create some literary work or some software.
Illegal copying of programs:
When a user of an infomatic device copies “software” or computer program is committing a theft, the unauthorized copy is illegal because it has not been authorized because it is protected by copyright, this is a form of crime.
Piracy:
Computer hacking is being on a PC for a long time making unauthorized use of networked
computer systems. Faudulent distribution of software or content that is subject to copyright is also considered piracy.
